eBay People Central

People Central was a major endeavor to shift from an aging Sharepoint site to a completely new experience. Building on the foundational work that had been done with the platform, the HR team worked with us over a 9 month period to build and develop the new employee experience.

All told the team created over 600 individual pages, through numerous explorations, prototypes and testing our team partnered closely on content architecture, design patterns, and building out style and implementation guides.

After an initial kick-off with all the stakeholders we quickly solidified objectives, to reduce call center volume, reduce content silos, and focus around the employee experience - a more user centered approach to the content.

The early sessions paved the way for the team to develop explorations around content templates, structure, site architecture and develop out prototypes for testing.

Multiple iterations and three rounds of user testing us helped the team refine the concepts and ideas and get to the final approach for the site.

A style guide and a site playbook helped align all the stakeholders.

All of these building blocks helped the team create many different types of experiences, focused on the goals and the tone of the content, informational and more focused where necessary, and more inspirational in other areas.

A voice and tone guide helped keep writing consistent across the whole site.

Alongside building out the People Central site the team also made a number of supporting animations, as well as posters and handouts. To support the launch of the new site.
